On Friday 1st March representatives of Co-op services in Wickersley visited the Winthrop Memory Café to provide each of the guests with daffodils to mark the St David’s Day, the Welsh National Day.
Cllr Sue Ellis, Chair of the Wickersley Parish Council which own and runs Winthrop Gardens said “We are enormously proud of the Winthrop Gardens Memory Café. There’s always lots of talking and laughter and people tell us how much they enjoy attending. We are delighted to now be working with the Co-op services in Wickersley and were really pleased to welcome Jane Bentley and Julia Burgin, the Co-op flower girls who came with a bunch of daffodils for every attendee.”
Jane Bentley from the Co-op Funeralcare in Wickersley said, “We’re delighted to be supporting Winthrop Gardens as on of the community projects in our local area. We’re looking forward to getting involved in more of the events and activities over the summer”
